SAUG Aims and Ideals

The System Architect User Group is an independent, non-profit making, unbiased forum for discussion. The User Group is dedicated to the sharing of ideas and information relating to the use of System Architect and provides a direct channel to influence the direction of the development of the product and supporting services offered by IBM. The SAUG is now a Special Interest Group within the UK Rational User Group (UK RUG).

SAUG Futures

In the current economic climate many companies find it increasingly difficult to justify spending money on User Group memberships or conferences. We noticed this a significant fall in SAUG memberships and conference delegates. To alleviate this we have changed the way that the SAUG is funded, making membership and conferences completely free.

Joining with the UK RUG allows us to utilise the RUG web resources to handle membership and conference registrations, thereby eliminating the need to employ administrators as we did previously. Conferences will still be held bi-annually, but at IBM or member sites, again removing cost from the SAUG. By doing this we intend to provide the same great forum for independent debate, but at no cost to the members.

SAUG Forum

Since IBM bought Telelogic, many people have been using the IBM Developerworks EA forum to post questions. The SAUG forums have fallen into disuse. We now recognise the Developerworks forum as the definitive site and have officially closed down the SAUG forums.
